Adult training guidelines suggest there are usually only a couple of reasons workers do not succeed in their jobs:  (1) the worker is either not qualified for the position physically, emotionally, intellectually, or personality wise or (2) the worker has not been adequately trained nor given the tools necessary to complete the job successfully.  If God has called you to become a Christian 12 Step Facilitator and empowered you with the skills and talents needed, then it is our job as the the Christian 12 Step Ministry to provide you with the comprehensive training and assistance you need to excel as a group facilitator.

We do this by offering Facilitator Training Workshops periodically throughout the year.  These workshops are scheduled when there is sufficient need requested by at least 10 potential volunteers.  The workshops are held in Ocala, Florida and are free of charge.  They normally last five hours and cover the following:

The purpose of this training is to better prepare volunteers to be used mightily by God in facilitating and teaching adult groups and sharing His Message to the lost and hurting.

These are our objections in this training:

●         Understand your own unique personality preferences and spiritual gifts

●         Relate to other people without assigning judgment to their actions

●         Become more tolerant of other people's opinions and viewpoints

●         Determine proper methods to instruct adult learners

●         Use encouragement as a basic principle in dealing with others

●         Prepare every facet of an effective meeting location/situation

●         Demonstrate successful facilitating skills in a class setting

●         Promote active listening and discussions in a group context

●         Maintain control through verbal and nonverbal communication

●         Create an open and accepting environment for healing to take place

●         Give God the glory for great things He has done and will do 

For those people interested in being trained but cannot attend the session located in Ocala, there is another option.  You may purchase the Facilitator Organizational Program which includes all the material presented at the Facilitator Workshop and additional material helpful in starting a Walking the 12 Steps with Jesus Christ group. 

The Facilitator Organizational Program includes a CD with all the information to successfully and effectively become certified as a facilitator of adult groups.  In addition, there is also a comprehensive Facilitator Guide to be used with the Walking the 12 Steps with Jesus Christ Study Guide.   With these two programs, any organization, church or group will have all the resources necessary to be used mightily by God in changing lives of those held in the bondage of addiction.
